Notes: See notes for Wynn Cowan Fairfield for more information. Daisie Pearl Gehman was the daughter of Henry and Mary Gehman. She was born June 30, 1883, in Norristown, Pa. Daisy graduated from Oberlin College in 1907 and went to China under the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions that same year. She married Dr. Fairfield in Japan in 1910. They returned to the United States in 1929. For the next 25 years, until Dr. Fairfield's retirement in 1954, they lived in Boston and New York. In 1954, Dr. and Mrs. Fairfield moved to Claremont, Calif., to make their home at Pilgrim Place, a church retirement home. Dr. Fairfield died in 1961, and Daisie lived an additional decade, until April 23, 1971.
